Babysitter in dog mauling case charged with felony child neglect

Seventeen-year-old Kayla Diane Nowlin of Panama City, Florida, was arrested this week on a charge of child neglect causing great bodily harm. She was babysitting a 2-year-old child which was mauled by her boxer. The teenager put the toddler on the ground, walked away, and when she turned around she saw the dog savagely attacking the child. She did this with full awareness that her dog previously had bitten another child in the neighborhood. (Read the article.)

Dear Mr. Phillips, Your website is a “blessing”. Thank you. It helps to be able to educate myself on the issues. My neighbors wife was attacked; and, by coincidence, my city, Jasper, Al is in the early process of adopting “some kind” of dog control code.
After reading the statistics of attacks especially children attacks. I find myself on a “crusade” to help the city find and adopt the best codes possible.
